Document Q is part of the Building Regulations 2010 and deals specifically with the prevention of unauthorised access to buildings - the aim is to make buildings more burglar resistant. As all new builds must conform to Document Q, we’ve come up with a number of Document Q compliant solutions to suit your profile.

We are always looking to innovate and we recently designed the first locking system that enables flush sash windows to be held in the ‘night vent’ position without compromising the external gasket, security or design. The Deltalock has been independently tested to PAS024 on a variety of profiles, with more profiles in the pipeline.

For many years Winlock have been well known for the unique patented Boa window restrictor which has been installed in hundreds of thousands of properties throughout the UK. This restrictor is face fixed and requires a squeezing operation to release the catch, which gives much higher levels of security and child safety than a standard restrictor arm and peg.

For some windows, the restricted opening needs to be permanent rather than via a face fixed device hence customers will fit restricted friction stays or limited stays that prevent the window from being fully opened. Winlock’s unique solution to this requirement is the patented Boa Concealed restrictor prevents it from being opened far enough to gain access.

The Lifetime Concealed Handle range is cleverly designed to improve the performance and look of door furniture by eliminating corrosion and sagging, whilst concealing all visible fixings. No more unsightly chipped, discoloured or damaged screw heads. With these handles, internal cover plate screw fixes are hidden, resulting in smooth clean lines, inside and out.

The unique Winlock Repair Cockspur is designed to allow the simple replacement of old cockspur handles with a modern attractive push to release handle. The stylish handle comes with stackable baseplate packers allowing step heights from 13mm to 21mm to be achieved and is available in a full range of painted or plated finishes.

The Stronghold Finger Pull is a combined escutcheon and pull that is designed to complement our range of Slam Shut and Key Operated door locks. In particular, it was designed as a high-security solution for “heritage” style applications including over-rebated doors requiring a 35mm backset lock. It complies with PAS024 when used in the security version with a 1-star cylinder.

Winlock’s unique repair MPL system will allow the replacement on the first visit of almost all multipoint door locks installed in the UK with 16mm or 20mm flat faceplates plus 24mm U track faceplates. We can offer backsets from 25mm to 65mm and any combination of hooks, rollers and mushroom cams. You can even add a shootbolt to it if required.

We can supply products including Extended Sure-Grip handles, anti-ligature handles, espag or tilt/turn handles with security keys plus a range of patented patio interlock security devices and pivot hinges. We also offer unique services including special paint finishes where under special order we can provide a number of our products in any RAL colour.
